Pesticides are any substances (included mixture of substance) for preventing, destroying, repelling or mitigating any pest.

Pesticides are widely used in producing food to control pests such as insects, rodents, bacteria, mold and fungus. Small amounts of pesticides may remain in or on fruits, vegetables, grains, transported, exposed to light, washed, and cooked, the amount of pesticide residue decreases considerably.

Before preparing fruits and vegetables, always wash your hands well with soap and water. Wash fruits and vegetables before eating. It is recommended to wash fruits and vegetables with cold running tap water.

Consumers may also choose to purchase organic foods, which are grown and processed without synthetic pesticides and fertilizers.
