AEON TO LAUNCH FIRST MALL IN EAST MALAYSIA
AEON MALL Kuching Central aims to enrich the lives of the Kuching community by offering a wide variety of lifestyle and fashion brands, cafes and restaurants with both local and international delicacies

KUCHING, 20 April 2018 Strengthening and expanding their presence to East Malaysia, AEON CO. (M) BHD. will launch their first mall in the region. Located only 25 minutes away from Kuching town, AEON MALL Kuching Central endeavours to enrich the lifestyle of the community near and far.

Spanning over 1.6 million square feet of gross built up area, housing more than 130 retail lots spread across three floors, AEON MALL Kuching Central plays host to the AEON supermarket and department stores for family, household furnishing and electronics as well as a wide range of retail and F&B outlets. In addition to this, the mall also comes with 1,800 car park bays that spread over five level of parking floors, designed to provide ample space for maximum shopping satisfaction to shoppers during their visit to the new mall. AEON MALL Kuching Central is set to encapsulate all the excitement from shopping, dining and leisure with the calmness of nature, to relaxation of life improvement experiences coupled with the energy of active sports especially with the opening of a 24-hour fitness centre coming soon.

The 1st AEON Store in East Malaysia offers a fulfilling shopping experience providing wide variety of quality products and services - a delightful selection of wholesome sensations, with everything within reach. Besides shopping for fresh groceries and household essentials at the AEON Supermarket, customers can also satisfy their appetites with various delicacies prepared fresh daily.

Apart from appetizing delicacies, shoppers can also find a contemporary mix of Japanese fashion, home and lifestyle concepts which include a wider range of merchandise. As for the layout of the three-storey AEON MALL Kuching Central, shoppers can enjoy extensive fashion selections of international and regional brands on the ground floor, followed by health facilities and lifestyle brands on the first floor. AEON will be introducing its first AEON Wellness outlet in Kuching, enabling customers to seek and enjoy more wellness options and variety.

To add convenience for shoppers, AEON MALL Kuching Central provides premier surau for Muslim customers, children-only restroom, as well as baby room that comes with a feeding and nappy change area, play land and water dispenser. Through AEON MALL Kuching Central, AEON is also introducing a first-in-Kuching Kids Kiddie car, featuring a character – Lala – from Molly Fantasy, which is AEON’s indoor amusement business.

Shoppers who wish to take a break can relax at a comfortable space provided at AEON MALL Kuching Central. There will be seating areas equipped with mobile charging ports and WiFi access to allow shoppers to unwind and charge their phones before continuing their shopping.

On top of providing shoppers with an array of products and services, AEON MALL Kuching Central will also showcase a group of kitty cats named ‘Niji’, which means ‘rainbow’ in Japanese. This unique concept that personifies the vibrant city comes in eight different colours to represent various characters: Black Oddly; Brown Cutie; Green Shy; Orange Sunny; Pink Cheeky; Purple Dreamy; Red Cunning; and White Smarty. Customers can enjoy Niji interaction activities such as arts, crafts and fashion shows at the Niji Fantasy Land, Niji Playground and Niji Village, located on the first and second floors of the mall respectively.

At the official launch of AEON MALL Kuching Central, the Malaysian AEON Foundation made a contribution of RM 30,000 each to four charity homes; Lembaga Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim, The Sarawak Cheshire Homes, Pertubuhan Kebajikan & Pendidikan Nur Murni and Rumah Seri Kenangan Kuching.

With the launch of AEON MALL Kuching Central, AEON CO. (M) BHD. now has a total of 27 AEON MALLs and 35 AEON Stores nationwide.
